Event Photographers to Use Wireless System; Capture, Post, Sell Online in Real
Time
DALLAS, January 20, 2005 OrderPicture.com (www.orderpicture.com) announced today
the debut of a new feature designed to work in conjunction with DICE America’s
(http://www.wi-pics.com/) Wi-Pics™ network appliance. The Wi-Pics™ device allows
any digital camera with a CompactFlash™ slot to transmit images via 802.11a or g
network.
OrderPicture.com clients can now create "Hot Event Folders" using their Image
Manager Software. The Hot folder system is designed to monitor specific "Hot"
folders created on the computer. As photographers capture and save images using
the Wi-Pics™ device to the "Hot" folder they are simultaneously processed and
uploaded to the website.
Clients can search for their pictures on the photographer’s website using data
captured by the Wi-Pics™ Devices optional bar code scanner. This add-on enables
the photographer to scan a bar code, shoot the subject and hand out tickets
on-site. The photographer’s subjects then can find and order their pictures
effortlessly on any web browser.
This eliminates the problems associated with very large event venues (Super
Bowl, Mardi Gra, Bowl Games, amusement parks, etc.) of subjects not being able
to find their pictures. Coupling the bar codes with OrderPicture.Com Buck$hots™
provides a pre-sell avenue to minimize or eliminate speculation sales at such
venues. Customers can begin ordering prints online before the event is over.
The OrderPicture.com Hot folder System is well-suited for use with DICE
America’s
Wi-Pics™ and also supports full bar-code search on the website.
